Greetings everyone,
I hope everyone has had an enjoyable summer thus far! As many of you may have noticed, my blog entries have been infrequent as of late. For that, I do apologize. My husband and I (and therefore Spiraea Herbal Clinic) are moving in early September to a townhouse in north Oshawa, Ontario. My life has been nothing by boxes and paint samples for the last few weeks. Although the move alone is very exciting for us, I will finally have a space solely dedicated to Spiraea and medicine making. I can’t wait!
Today we went for what might be our last hike to our favourite little place in Uxbridge. This piece of land has been a great source of joy and teachings for me over the last two years. Here are some photos from our hike.
Solidago canadensis – Canada Goldenrod
Rows of Ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia)
Rumex crispus (Yellow dock) with Daucus carota (Queen Ann’s Lace) in the background.
Late season Trifolium pratense (Red clover)
Plantago major – Common plantain
Found some Herb Robert (Geranium robertianum) still in flower in the woods.
Evening Primrose – Onagraceae biennis
Big beautiful burdock
Enchanters nightshade – Circaea lutetiana
We hung out with our butterfly friend for a while. We got a close look with the binoculars… quite amazing!
The view I fell in love with. I will miss having this wonderful place so close.
